The Gospel of John
If you had to spend the rest of your life on a deserted island and could bring only one book of the Bible, which one would you choose? For me, without hesitation, it would be the Gospel of John.
John 17:24 transformed the way I understand God and Christianity. In that one verse, I discovered that the God who possesses everything actually desires *something*—and from that moment, I dedicated my life to answering His prayer.
John—“the disciple whom Jesus loved,” the one who leaned back on Jesus’ chest and heard the secrets of His heart—is now an old man when he writes this Gospel. With decades of maturity, revelation, and tenderness, he recounts the life and ministry of Jesus with unmatched depth and clarity.
He takes us all the way back to the dawn of creation, revealing Jesus not only as a man, but as the Eternal Word—God Himself—who, in the fullness of time, “became flesh and dwelt among us.”
The great “I AM” who appeared to Moses now walks among humanity, revealing Himself as "the Bread of Life", "the Light of the World", "the Resurrection and the Life", and so much more. John’s Gospel opens these revelations like treasures, each one inviting us deeper into the heart of Jesus.
